Biography
Chris Schlemer, a.k.a “Schlem”, brings over 20 years of bowling industry experience to his new position as Marketing Manager for Roto Grip. From learning the trade of the pro shop business in local pro shops just outside of St. Louis in Illinois as a teenager, to working as Player Services (ball drilling) on the defunct PWBA in the late 90s. Schlem quickly gained respect in the industry and earned his first Tour Rep job with a small brand on the PWBA Tour in 2000. In May 2001, he was given the opportunity of a lifetime when he was hired as the Pro Tour Consultant for Storm Products Inc. to coach on all three professional tours at the time. The rest as they say is history. In his 10+ years as the SPI Tour Consultant Schlem was involved in many televised and non-televised bowling moments that are now part of bowling history. From helping Norm Duke capture the Grand Slam of professional bowling, to Wes Malott being named 2008 PBA Player of the Year, to Pete Weber claiming his record setting 5th U.S. Open title in 2012; Schlem will now set aside his coaching skills and begin the next chapter of his bowling industry career.
