In the PBA South Region, Kyle Troup of Hickory, N.C., defeated top qualifier Tom Daugherty of Wesley Chapel, Fla., 246-204, to win the NAS Jacksonville (Fla.) Open at NAS Freedom Lanes on Sunday.
Troup used a Roto Grip Outlaw for the win.
Troup posted a 6-6 match play record with 4,973 total pins for 20 games to qualify second for the stepladder finals, 99 pins behind Daugherty, and defeated PBA Hall of Famer and Roto Grip Staffer Tom Baker of King, N.C., 201-186, in the semifinal match to advance to the title match. He earned $2,100 along with his fourth career PBA Regional title.
