Intent

Roto Grip's Crown Line is exactly that – the crown jewel of core design and coverstock technology. So when we're looking to create that new gem, we have to make sure that it lives up to the reputation of its predecessors.

The new Super Cell will be a strong asymmetrical shape as we need it rev up and roar at the break point. And the cover will be strong enough to handle heavier oil without losing that famous "knockout punch" at the pins.

Design

The Super Cell features the highly regarded Nucleus™ core, the same core which forever changed the bowling industry and the way we look at core shape. Predictable for ball drillers and bowlers alike, this awesome design produces an impeccable motion with countless layouts.

For the cover, we wrapped the super tacky Cytoplasmic XL™ pearl reactive on it to ensure plenty of traction in oil with a big move to the pocket. And not only is it strong it's versatile! Grab an Abralon® pad and break the polish to reveal a second level of power.

The Super Cell is just what you need to put a hurtin' on the pins, just like big Wes Malott does to his competition.

GLOBAL ALLIANCE™

Intent

Roto Grip's Royal™ Line has been known to bring you some serious strength. From the Kingdom™ to the powerful Domain™, if you're looking for a premium ball with top-notch performance, look no further.

While other balls in the Royal line like the Kingdom and Domain both offer a mild asymmetrical core using the C.A.M. ™ design; the next ball in the Alliance™ series will utilize the popular Pinnacle™ core which has a faster spin time and stronger mass bias.

Looking at the stats you'll see a medium RG and high ratio of mass bias to total differential (20/47). This produces a highly angular move at the break point, but we need to consider the coverstock as well.

The original Armor™ coverstock on the Alliance™ and Alliance Tour™ helped create friction through the oil while the pearl and hybrid aimed to expand on the break point dominance. The Global Alliance will now focus more on mid-lane reaction.

Design

At Roto Grip we pride ourselves in providing a complete line of bowling balls that have both value and performance.

With a medium-low RG (2.54) and a high mass bias differential (.020), the Pinnacle core utilized in the Alliance series is in a class of its own. And while the core shape and selection is important to ball motion, especially at the break point, you know that the coverstock is paramount!

That's why we selected the Armor shell for its enhanced peaks and valleys of the coverstock - also known as 'surface roughness' or Ra. Those bowling on heavier volumes that need more friction on oil will like the solid version of this coverstock. Take out the MICA (pearl) and the ball slows down faster enhancing motion through the mid-lane.

Even though it comes with 1500-grit factory polish, the Global Alliance can be adjusted to suit your particular needs. If you're more of a stroker, you'll like the out of the box finish. Players with higher speeds may want to grab an Abralon® pad to break the surface.

KINGDOM™

The Royal line continues to reign supreme as Roto Grip's highest standard for quality and dynamic ball motion. The Empire™ and Dynasty™ pushed the standard even higher with the introduction of the CAM™ core and Cyto-X™ reactive coverstock, creating the strongest most continuous ball motion to date.

Holding true to the prestige of the Royal line, the Kingdom™ continues the tradition of the CAM core's motion, but utilizes the proven Armor™ coverstock made popular by the Alliance™ and Alliance™ Tour. The combination of Armor solid reactive and the CAM core create a potent amount of friction in the midlanes with continuous motion in the backends. The enhanced footprint and increased Ra values of the cover combined with the built in continuation of the weight block create a ball capable of defeating heavy oil or carry down.

When finished with 2000-grit Abralon, the Kingdom generates the friction and roll necessary to rule in the heaviest of oils.

SUPER NOMAD™

The Nomad™ series continues to be a great success. The introduction of the Super Nomad™ increases the depth of the Sword line. Its more aggressive pearlized coverstock adds another dimension to the line by delivering more aggressive motion down lane.

Our Intent was to complement that product line with the introduction of the Super Nomad™. We adjusted the ratio of the Ultra-Vision™ pearlized reactive coverstock to create an increased surface topography and enhanced traction. The C.A.T.S. testing showed a 7% increase in entry angle to the pocket over the original Nomad Pearl.

The finishing touch is the Rotary™ core. This extremely successful mid-rg and high differential core has proven to be one of the strongest and most versatile cores ever developed. The combination of strength and ease of drilling allows it work for a variety of players on a variety of conditions.

MUTANT CELL™ HYBRID

The Mutation continues with the all-new Mutant Cell™ "Hybrid". The response to the Nucleus II™ core has been overwhelming. Its sharper motion at the breakpoint and explosive pin action has been shaking the bowling world.

This latest edition to the Cell line features the Cytoplasmic XL™ "hybrid" coverstock. This 1500 grit polished coverstock reads stronger through the mid-lane like a solid, and comes off the breakpoint with the angularity of a pearlized coverstock. This unique blend creates the perfect addition to the Roto Grip line.

This combination of a stronger asymmetrical core allows for a more defined breakpoint while the "hybrid" coverstock delivers stronger motion down the lane on those medium patterns.

REALM™

The Royal™ line of equipment from Roto Grip sets the standard higher than any other line in bowling. The concept behind the Realm™ was to add an extremely aggressive solid reactive to this line. We felt the utilization of the Cyto-X™ coverstock would be the perfect fit. With its extremely high surface texture and coefficient of friction, it proved to be right on target. We saw an increase in surface friction and entry angle from the C.A.T.S. system of about 7% from the previous balls we've tested. The C.A.M. core continues to provide the power behind this Royal™ line. The alternating ellipses strategically placed along the x and y axes prove to be the most continuous motion ever seen out of an asymmetrical part. The Rule of this Kingdom continues...

NOMAD™ HYBRID

The Nomad™ series has already proven to be a great success. The introduction of the Nomad™ Solid and the Nomad™ Pearl together has strengthened the Sword™ line. Our Intent was to complete that product line with the introduction of the Nomad™ Hybrid. The Ultra-Vision solid reactive side delivers the added traction in the oil while the Ultra-Vision™ pearl side generates the explosive backend reaction. This 50/50 solid pearl combination delivers the best characteristics of both balls into one. It would not be complete without the Rotary™ core power plant. This highly successful mid-rg and high differential core has proven to be one of the strongest and most versatile core ever developed. It fits into a variety of players hand as well as a variety of conditions. And the Battle Rages on...

KILLER CELL™

In designing the Killer Cell™, we were looking to continue the tradition of performance and predictability within the Crown™ line. We felt that we needed more mid-lane read, but and added motion down lane. Through extensive testing of various coverstock formulations, we came up with this version of Cytoplasmic XL™ hybrid. The combination of Solid and Pearl reactive proved to be the perfect answer.

The power within comes from the Nucleus™ core. The most highly successful weight block ever released from Roto Grip®. The Nucleus™ core has proven its versatility for all types of players and conditions. The elliptical asymmetrical design delivers fast revving continuous motion from start to finish.

The combination of Cytoplasmic™ XL hybrid and the Nucleus™ core will prove to be the ultimate pin killing machine.

DYNASTY™

The Royal™ line of equipment from Roto Grip sets the standard higher than any other line in bowling. The Empire™ was the first of its kind in the industry with the CAM™ core. Its unique shape and the alternating ellipses allowed for the most continuous motion ever seen out of an asymmetrical bowling ball. Along with the new shape we also added the Cyto-X™ coverstock, the highest texture coverstock in the industry. Our goal with the Dynasty™ was to design a ball that would complement the Royal™ line. To accomplish that we felt we needed this ball to have a slight bit more traction in the mid-lane, but with no loss of entry angle down the lane. The Cyto-X™ hybrid coverstock was the perfect fit. Our test results showed a 5% increase in friction values through the hook zone, and no loss of entry angle down the lane. This is another powerful descendant from a truly royal ancestor...

EMPIRE™

The CAM™ (Controlled Axis Migration) core was developed using three alternating ellipses. Each ellipse is positioned strategically along the x-axis and then rotating the middle ellipse perpendicular to the y-axis. This gives us constant imbalance or differential as the ball is travelling down the lane and migrating towards its preferred spin axis. In simple terms, this means more consistent hook from start to finish.

The final element to the equation was coverstock. The Cyto-X™ pearl reactive coverstock is the first of its kind. We are using an enhanced blend of reactive material with interference mica to develop a high surface topography or texture (Ra). This translates into a pearlized ball having the same surface texture as a solid in the oil, but with the performance characteristics of a pearl reactive down the lane. The bottom line is this is a revolution!

CUBIC CELL™

Utilizing the original Cytoplasmic™ coverstock in a slightly different formulation has created the perfect complement to this series. This highly aggressive coverstock is what powered the original Cell to the "2008 Ball of the Year". Its consistent motion all the way through the lane makes it one of the most versatile coverstocks available.

The final component is the Nucleus™ core. This unique design maintains its differential better than any other weight block to date. This translates into the more consistent hook throughout the entire lane, and on a variety of patterns.

When the lanes are in the medium range – not too oily and not too dry – you need reliable shapes and coverstocks, something that gives a perfect balance of hook and control.

This new core is symmetrical in design with medium RGs that is versatile enough to produce more flare potential when needed. It will match a variety of bowlers whether they hook the ball coast to coast or ride the straighter edge.

At Roto Grip we are constantly bringing new and exciting pieces to you and the sport. Let's face it, bowling is cool and exciting but can be challenging at times; especially if you don't have the right equipment.
