As most of you have been around for awhile know, there is a method to my madness. This beauty right here is just another case in point. When I set out to create the next viable option in the "No Rules" line, I did what I always do and that is step back and look at the line top to bottom. Then look at it side to side. Then I cross reference it to the Storm side.
After checking out all these angles I then decide what type of motion or reaction is needed. In the case of this ball, there was a glaring need for a asymmetrical ball with a plain and pure reactive cover. Yes the original No Rules has a solid cover but it is Micro DNA which is a nano-technology which makes the cover grab earlier. The cover on the No Rules is best compared to the Storm Sure Lock if you are looking to cross reference.
Once I figured out was the best plan of attack I went through what we are currently making on the Roto side. By far the most popular currently is the Dare Devil Trick. That is how I found my way to using the exact same cover we offer on the DDT.
Not to mention, if you look across both the Roto and Storm brands we currently did not have an asymmetrical solid ball in the line. So this was the missing link to better piece together the HP4 line.
In terms of reaction, you can expect a much cleaner motion in the front of the lane which then creates more responsiveness to friction. If by chance you were able to catch the Facebook LIVE videos from Bowl Expo you could see first hand that both Wes Malott and Anthony Simonsen could get left and throw it over the left gutter and still get the No Rules EXIST to come around the corner and carry. Granted it was a house shot, but the fact of the matter is both players mentioned they could never get that deep with the original No Rules because of the cover strength. That ball tends to roll early and blend out more.
Out of the box it comes sanded to 2000-grit just like most other solids. But just know if you need it to grab the lane sooner you can always sand it down more to make it see the lane sooner but not bog down so much because it is pure reactive.
Or you can always shine it too to have a good option off the No Rules Pearl if that balls is too sharp off the friction. A No Rules EXIST polished will still be strong but not as sideways off the friction.
