Just one week after achieving perfection, Amos was back at it and turning heads once again at Thunder Alley Bowling Center on 4.18.14. He started the night with 300 yet again making it 4 consecutive 300 games in that league, then tossed a 275 and followed that up with another 300. Back to back weeks he posted 900 and 875. Talk about having a hot hand!

The 29-year-old right-hander had 36 consecutive strikes at the Friday Night Mixed Early league at Thunder Alley Bowling Center in nearby Fort Carson, Colo., to become the 24th bowler in history to record a perfect series. The achievement is pending approval from the United States Bowling Congress and would be the 25th USBC-approved 900.
The series bested the previous Colorado state record of 899, shot by Denver's Terry Weddel in 2011.
Although Gordon hadn't achieved an 800 series in certified competition prior to his performance Friday, he had been bowling well and had just missed hitting the 800 mark several times.
As the strikes started to add up Friday, Gordon still found himself more focused on helping his team win.
"The guy I was bowling against started with four in a row, so I was trying to keep up," Gordon said. "My mind was focused on trying to help the team win. We ended up barely winning each game."
The attention started to turn to Gordon after he finished his second 300, and Thunder Alley became quieter as he got closer to the final frame. In the 10th, he tried not to pay attention to his surroundings and deliver quality shots.
"Everyone started migrating towards our lanes after the second 300," Gordon said. "When I went to bowl, I didn't hear anything, which was crazy. When I got to the 10th frame, I tried not to pay attention to everyone taking pictures and videos. On the final shot, I took my time, made sure I got myself together and threw a great ball."
The emotions finally came out after the final strike was delivered, and Gordon hopes the achievement is a stepping stone in his bowling career.
"It means a great deal to me," Gordon said. "All of the hard work, focus and practice paid off, and it shows that if you put a lot into something, you can get great things back. I couldn't have achieved this goal without the love and support of my family. I'm going to stay humble and continue to practice and try to get better."

I shot an 813 series, including scores of 279, 266, and 268. This ball hits great! I had just refreshed the surface to the box finish, 3000 grit, with no polish. It hit like a brand new ball again. I shot these scores on our 39 ft house pattern.
"This is a necessity in any arsenal!"

"I would like to thank Bowlers Supply and staffer "Roto Grip" Rick Mitchell for recommending the Asylum ball for me. I had the best State scores I ever recorded and probably the best three in a row I ever had... Own It!"

Drilled the Asylum in late January, have shot very well since then at 3 different centers including 300/819. Drilled this one using dual angle 50 X 4 X 70. Ball reads the midlane really well, has a strong but controlled back end. Very forgiving on minor errors and hits extremely hard. I am a fan of hybrid bowling balls and this may be the best ever.
"This is a fantastic ball!!"

What I Was Looking For from this ball: I wanted the Asylum to be a benchmark ball for me and to be very strong through the midlane and continue all the way to the backend. I wanted the hybrid coverstock and weight block combination to give me just that.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout: I ended up with a hook monster for me. I literally went to the pro shop and polished this bad boy before I continued testing it out. For me its mean and I mean very aggressive on the backend.
I tested this ball on a fresh pattern at my local center. The centers lanes are wood and the house shot isn't easy. The shot tends to hook early in the middle of the lanes and hang right if you get the ball too far out. Over the course of 5 games, I started at my normal area which is around 15 and threw out to 8. Well, this ball was a bit too much for this line and I had to throw lots harder than normal to play it. However, When I kept my speed up, it hit like a Mack Truck. Over the next 5 games I moved left and deeper on the lane. With our shot tending to hook more when you got deep, I was very impressed by how this ball held its line with a good continuous motion throughout the front part of the lane and came back off my break point with authority! For the rest of my practice session with this ball, I moved back right and started sending the Asylum out further to the right than I normally play flirting with our out of bounds area. I quickly found out that I don't have much of an out of bounds with this ball. I am very impressed!
Overall: Once again a fantastic Roto Grip ball! VERY strong! I will definitely make sure to have this ball with me wherever I go and start out with it. One of the hardest hitting balls I have thrown in a while and a great looking ball. I will have to keep mine polished, but that's because of my slower speed. Most players can probably throw it OTB. Anyone looking for an aggressive ball with a great look, buy this! Roto Grip hit it out of the park with this one.
