Last 3 tournaments I have bowled...
Boxing Day - first place
Helena open - first place
World Cup provincial - first place
"For the pass two months I have bowl 3 tournament with the shatter. I have one all 3 and I can only say one thing about this ball wow on any condition. I bowl on probably on one of the toughest condition I have ever seen in Helena Montana. The shatter was so good true the front where everybody was struggling.I was able to keep my speed down and let the ball finish strong on a back end with a lot of carry down. My last tournament we bowl on the winding road pattern. There I play it fairly straight until they open up and again this was great for me. It gave me a look almost like a house shot. I was able to move inside and swing the ball out with a very strong back end again. What more can you ask of a bowling ball that will carry on any angle played

Have been using the Shatter for a little over a month and have shot a 299 (769 series) and an 800 series (807). This ball hits harder than any other ball that I've used. I like it so much that I'm asking Santa to bring me a new one.

After a lot of success with the Shooting Start, I could not wait to try the Shatter with its pearl finish. I loved the Shatter on a medium or dry shot. This ball should be ideal for a house shot. In a typical league shot I could play outside the second arrow most of the night. As the conditions broke down, I could easily move in 3-5 boards and stay in the pocket. With the pearl finish, this ball has a sharp backend and makes a quick continuous move to the pocket.
My Shatter was drilled with the pin below the fingers and he CG kicked out close to the PAP. I kept the box finish. After a few games to scuff up the box finish a little, this ball began showing its real potential. This ball cleared the heads great. In the mid-lane the ball revved up nicely and made a sharp decisive move to the pocket.
The Shatter has a very predictable reaction. This is great for the league player. As the lanes transition, this is an ideal ball to go to. I made slight adjustments with ball speed and angle and was able keep the ball in play and use this ball all night long.
This ball surprised me and played a lot stronger than you would expect based on the specs. I was getting 4-5 inches of flair and bouncing the ball off the dry all night.

My Axis is 5 5/8 right, ¼ up, my speed is average and I would consider myself with higher revs but more up the back. So not a cranker but not really straight either.
Drilled the pin 4” and the CG 3 ½” from PAP (pin down).
This ball is awesome! It goes through the heads very smooth then makes a sharp turn and has no quit. It’s been great on house shots as well as several patterns where you need to play way inside. With my release I’m always looking for a ball to play way inside and still get it around the corner with enough left on it to carry and the Shatter does that with ease. It has also worked late in tournaments when the heads are drying up because it gets down the lane so well. I would highly recommend this ball!

The shatter has a great, consistent roll with a strong back-end that slaps the corners out on off-hits. I have 4 honor scores in 4 weeks in two different bowling centers with this ball. Used dual angle 70X4X70 drill pattern.

As the Shatter tech spec's point out, the ball goes long, but,I get a sharper flip at the break point than my Star balls did. As a Super Senior LH Stroker, I have the 3 inch pin below my ring finger with the CG out 1 inch with an X-hole. I had 3 700's in my 1st 3 weeks of league bowling, with the highest 3 weeks ago...259-300-231-790 with 2 open splits in 3rd game & 27 Strikes..As the past Mid-Priced balls from RG stood out, the Shatter will stand alone for bowlers of all ages....Larry Hoffman, RG Staff.

Swiss national team member Harn-Chieh Kwan (HCK) bowled a 880 series on the occasion of the semi-finals in a double tournament with his Roto Grip Shatter (300-290-290). The ball was drilled 3 days before of his good friend and longtime ball driller Andreas Boesiger. 28-year old HCK is a non-typical left-handed cranker with great bowling abilities.
""Thank you Roto Grip for manufacturing such great bowling balls!""

This ball is very clean through the heads and has moderate length. The entry angle is very sharp. Works great on the break down. When you need a ball to get down the lane and have consistent finish. Love the colors in this ball.
Staff Review - Jeffery Mersch - SHATTER - Great Ball for the Price

Layout is stacked above the ring finger no weight hole.
I am a left handed tweener with a 325 rev rate.
The shatter is a great value ball from Roto Grip. The performance is fantastic, and for the price it cannot be beaten. For league this is the first ball out of my bag. It clears the fronts and has a great backend. The pin carry is also amazing, I am glad that I drilled this up in time for my winter leagues to start.
I have tried this ball at multiple surfaces, and it has shown me that it is very versatile. This ball shines up well to get through the heads and save energy for maximum backend reaction. Even at 1000 grit, it still cleared the heads and continued on the backend.
If you are looking for high performance at a great price point, than look no further.

Shatter--- 50x4 ½ x 30 layout-box condition
Patterns tested on: THS on HPL and SPL and London
Ball tested EXCELLENT on the HPL house pattern and US Open pattern, was striking at will by move my feet 3 left and eyes 2 left on the lane outside of where I was playing with a 60x4x40 Berserk. This ball likes the grittier surfaces and on the SPL, it was a little more delayed in the reaction, more because of the surface difference. I did start to have a better reaction on the SPL when I moved my feet closer to 10-12 and looking at 5-6 right past the arrows. The ball looked great all thru the practice sessions and the ball was not sensitive to the breakdown of the pattern like a normal pearlized ball would be. A great ball to match with the Berserk when the Berserk is a little too strong.
Staffer review of the SHATTER - John Brodersen

Ball specs – 15 lbs 2 oz, 2.54 top weight, 2 3/4-inch pin.
The Shatter, which is a polished pearl, was drilled using the dual angle method. The layout is a 4 inch pin, 70-degree drill angle and a 30-degree VAL angle. An x-hole was not needed. Using Storm’s layout terminology the layout would be 4 by 4 7/8 with a 2 inch pin buffer. The cover was left OOB which is 1500 polished.
Just like the prior releases at this price point (Shooting Star and Rising Star) the Shatter’s strength surprised me. But the Shatter’s strength is all in the backend of the lane. The pattern bowled on was a 41 foot, 24 micro-liter broken down house condition. I had used a Defiant Edge and Berserk earlier and was playing around 22 with them. With the HP2 Shatter I was able to move my feet and target slightly right and send it. The Shatter was extremely clean through the fronts on the broken down pattern. When the Shatter made its move to the pocket is was quick and angular. Hit and carry percentage were both very good.
If your looking for a ball to get down the lane and around the corner on medium and broken down patterns look no further than the new HP2 Shatter.
